MOTHERS DAY :)
May has always been a wonderful month for children as well as mothers
for it’s a month where we can and we should as a children show our
gratitude towards our mother regardless of being shy or even when you
do it all the time. It’s the time of the year where you shed her with lots of love even if you did every day.Mother’s Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May every year. But in South Korea, it’s a little bit different from the usual celebration.Children’s Day falls on May 5th while May 8th is where they celebrate Parent’s Day. Originally a Mother’s Day, South Koreans decided to fix May 8th as Parent’s Day instead! It was done this way so that fathers don’t feel left out during the celebration. Parent’s Day, just like your usual Father’s Day and Mother’s Day is celebrated to show regards to the efforts and sacrifices made by your parents all these while, while you grow. Although this day is not declared as a Public Holiday, it is still one special day that every Koreans celebrate yearly.Parents have been playing a great role in our life, supporting us and going through our ups and downs. They are every child’s stepping stone in achieving what they achieved these days. Parents have been working
very hard to give us what we need, to provide us with shelter and undying
love. In order to show their love, children send their parents flowers and gifts. Among the flowers, carnations and roses are the favorites and they don’t just send flowers but also spending time with their parents, doing what
they love to. These are what everyone usually does on this day but things change from time to time.Although children these days don’t often touch their parents with
flowers and gifts and instead just buy them a meal of two, Koreans are different. The gifts for their parents nowadays include cosmetic surgery too. It includes face lift, Botox and many more. This cosmetic surgery gift is given to enhance the look of their parents, to bring back the youthfulness of theirskin and the only secret to looking young. That’s how they show their gratitude often to let them know they care about their parents.
